In 2004 I purchased this 1983 Specialized Sirrus off of eBay. By some strange twist of fate, I was never charged for the bike. It was free!

The bike came with the same 105 Groupo with which it had been sold! It had a 6-speed cassette and a Biopace crank!

Unfortunately, when I lived in New York, one day I was riding it in Central Park and another biker collided with me, producing the below apparent cracks to the top tube and down tube:

I also had to go to the emergency room, but was only suffering from a bruised sternum. This also enabled me to learn that one should never drink in order to quell skeleto-muscular pains. In fact, it seems to exacerbate them!
Today, June 1st, 2026 I parted with the bike after finding a buyer on Craigslist. $20!

I took a ride before the buyer appeared. No creaks, smooth shifting. Man, I hated to give it up.
